Living in Nicaragua: An inspiring collaboration with Jeanne
At iDO, we’re especially proud to collaborate with some incredible people, and Jeanne is one of them. Thanks to her, iDO continues to grow while bringing fresh ideas and contagious energy.
By the way, there’s a little joke we like to make about her: back home, we never ask Jeanne to hide her background during Zoom calls.
Why is that? Because, through her windows, we travel with her to Nicaragua!
Remote Work with Asana while Living in Nicaragua: My adventure with iDO
Interviewer: Is it really possible to work 9,000 km away from your colleagues?
Jeanne: “Yes, thanks to iDO, a 100% telecommuting company with no physical office. I live several months a year in Nicaragua, where I can reconcile my professional and personal projects through remote work with Asana.”
Jeanne spends several months each year in this Central American gem, bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. An ideal setting for combining work and passion, while enjoying an exceptional natural setting.
Interviewer: Can you tell us more about your personal project in Nicaragua?
Jeanne: “In 2019, with four friends, we built a guest house. This project welcomes travelers from all over the world, curious to discover the nature and culture of Nicaragua.”
This project is much more than just a business for her. It’s a human experience, a meeting place where she shares her love for the wilderness and local culture. But how does she manage to juggle this ambitious project with her work for iDO?
A balanced, healthy lifestyle 🌞
Interviewer: What’s a typical day like?
Jeanne: “I start at 5am with a local coffee, grown on Nicaragua’s volcanic soil. Then I work for iDO from 6am until 2pm. After that, I devote myself to the hostel and accompany our guests through the surrounding countryside. It’s a great balance between work and personal life.”
Jeanne likes to start her day early, taking advantage of the cool morning air and the favorable time difference with her European colleagues. This allows her to fully commit to iDO while handling her remote work with Asana, leaving time in the afternoon for her personal project.
Organization, the key to her success: Asana and iDO at the heart of her routine
Interviewer: How do you manage all this without being overwhelmed?
Jeanne: “Thanks to Asana, everything is organized and prioritized. iDO is an expert in adopting Asana, which has made my projects much more efficient.”
With Asana, Jeanne can organize and track her multiple projects without stress. Tasks, subtasks, automations and @mentions make collaboration easy, even with an eight-hour time difference. Remote work with Asana allows her to manage her dual professional and personal life effortlessly.
Collaboration despite the time difference ⏰
Interviewer: What about jet lag?
Jeanne: “Asana allows us to collaborate worry-free despite the 8-hour time difference. The tasks, automations, and @mentions keep us in sync at all times.”
For Jeanne, Asana is the essential tool for ensuring effective collaboration. No matter where she is, everyone stays on the same page.
A life rich in diversity 🌍
Interviewer: You seem to thrive on this lifestyle. What impact does it have on your work?
Jeanne: “It motivates me and gives me the energy I need to be productive. I have the freedom to thrive professionally while managing my personal project, and that I owe to iDO and Asana.”
Thanks to this healthy, balanced lifestyle, Jeanne manages not only to be productive, but also to add value to iDO, while living her project in Nicaragua to the full. For her, this diversity of activities is a source of energy and motivation, and a driving force in her work.
Working remotely and fulfilling yourself both professionally and personally? It is possible, and Jeanne is the perfect example, proving that with the right tools, efficiency knows no boundaries!
