From Chaos to Clarity: My Life as an Asana Specialist

Bastien Asana specialist

Hi there! My name is Bastien, and I’m an Asana specialist. I live and breathe Asana, helping teams around the world organize, plan, and achieve their goals. I’ve written books, created hundreds of videos, and spent countless hours answering questions on the forum. My face pops up so often in the Asana ecosystem that some people mistakenly thank me for creating the tool itself!

Spoiler alert: I didn’t create Asana. I might be resourceful, but I was missing 1,000 teammates to pull that off. What I do as an Asana specialist is help people use Asana to its full potential—and I absolutely love it.

🎥 Insights from an Asana Specialist

I created a video sharing the funniest, most relatable stories from my Asana journey, along with practical tips to help you get the most out of it. From family life to business, you’ll see how Asana fits into everything I do.

A Natural Born Organizer

As a kid, I didn’t dream of becoming an astronaut or a firefighter. I wanted to sweep the streets. Seriously. I think I’ve always had this innate desire for organization and tidiness, which naturally led me to project management. Fast forward to today, and I’m co-founder of iDO, one of the most active Asana consulting agencies.

The Life of an Asana Specialist at Home

I use Asana for everything. Need to fold laundry? Check. Plan an anniversary trip? Check. Even my life goals have become milestones in Asana. Completing tasks is so satisfying that I sometimes create tasks after doing them, just to tick them off.

My wife, however, took some convincing to embrace Asana. At one point, she even called it “ugly”! Can you imagine? That’s like calling someone’s baby ugly—especially a baby that helps pay the bills!

These days, she’s back in Asana, and we collaborate (read: I assign tasks, and she humors me). It’s a win-win, even if I occasionally have to update her tasks over dinner.

Delegating Gone Wrong

Speaking of collaboration, I once assigned my assistant to research a gift for my wife. When I told my wife, she was horrified. Apparently, the research is part of the gift. Who knew? Lesson learned—I now have a task in Asana to figure out what’s acceptable to delegate as a married couple.

Asana and Driving Don’t Mix

Here’s a pro tip: never “Asana and drive.” It’s dangerous, and auto-correct makes it worse. I’ve ended up with some pretty questionable tasks, like “confirm impotence Bob.” To this day, I have no idea what that was about.

Humor in Asana

My job isn’t all task lists and milestones. I find plenty of humor in what I do. From clients who hate flying unicorns to forum users who demand stacked bar charts, there’s always something that makes me smile.

The best part? Seeing how Asana transforms my clients’ lives. It helps them feel less overwhelmed, more organized, and ready to tackle their goals. That’s why I love what I do.

At iDO, we help companies deploy Asana successfully and sell licenses with added benefits. If you’re ready to make the most of Asana, let’s talk! Just don’t buy licenses directly from Asana—we’ve got you covered.

Helping people use Asana isn’t just my job; it’s my passion. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
